How I came up with the idea for Crytobook Bags

I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. My mother has told me I started at a very young age. I love to be able to create many wonderful items. The only problem is that it is a very expensive hobby, so I had to start finding ways to make some money to pay for my supplies.

After many years of not knowing what I wanted to do when I grow up I finally decided on something that would use my creative side of me. I decided to go into web designing. This meaning I would have to go back to school after being a mother and wife for twenty years.

This would also mean I needed school supplies. So I looked at my local stores for a nice book bag. It had to be big enough for me to carry my books, wallet, phone, tablet, and folder. I could not find anything big enough, or it had cartoon theme, or was too much money. I was almost 40 years old going back to school I did not want to look too childish. At last I came up with the idea of making my own bag. I made mine out of black and red colors. I really wanted to add skulls, but staying with the adult look I decided to put the skulls inside the bag.

I really liked the idea that only I knew what was on the inside. My bags, like a butterfly in a chrysalis: looking plain on the outside, but opening to glorious and unexpected beauty. Imagine the white tube dangling from a tree leaf. Who could imagine that inside, a butterfly with bright wings many times the size of that silk bag could emerge from that tiny package? Just like my book bags, holding secrets on the inside that one would ever guess from the outside. This is how I came up with my book bags solid on the outside and beautiful inside.

I also make custom bags on request. People can send me the material and I will make it to their liking.
